League reveals fixtures ahead of 2022 season...

THE fixtures have been revealed for the 2022 season of the Everards Leicesters­hire and Rutland Cricket League.

The season will get underway on April 23, with six local clubs represente­d in the Premier League.

Kegworth Town will get their season off the ground with a home ‘derby’ against Rothley Park, while

Barrow Town will get their campaign underway with a trip to defendng champions Kibworth.

Elsewhere Loughborou­gh Town face a trip to Leicester Ivanhoe, Sileby Town will travel to face Oakham while Newtown Linford will also travel to Rutland where they will face Uppingham Town.

In Division One, Cropston will be aiming for an immediate return to the Premier League and start their season off when they host Ashby Hastings, while Loughborou­gh Town 2nd XI are also at home for their first match when they entertain

2md XI.

In Division Two, Shepshed will stat off with a home clash against Thorpe Arnold, while Sileby Town 2nd XI will entertain Loughborou­gh Carillon following Carillon’s relegation from Division One.

In Division Three West, Loughborou­gh Greenfield­s will host Maher CC, Mountsorre­l Castle face a trip away to face Newbold Verdon, Newtown Linford 2nd XI will host Huncote, while Rothley Park 2nd XI will be at home against Ratby Town.

Leicester Ivanhoe

In Division Four East, Birstall Village will travel to face Countestho­rpe and Sileby Town 3rd XI will play Lutterwort­h 2nd XI.

In Division Four West, Kegworth Town 2nd XI are away at Anstey and Glenfield 1st XI, Barrow Town 2nd XI will play Shepshed 2nd XI, Leicester Ivanhoe 3rd XI will host Crospton 2nd XI while Quorn will open their campaign following last season’s promotion by playing host to Long Whatton 1st XI.

The season will conclude with the final matches scheduled to take place on September 17.
