GARDENING CLUB VISIT TO RHS BRIDGEWATER. The coach trip to Bridgewater has proven very popular and is now fully booked but if you have missed out or would just like to find out more about the rich heritage and the making of RHS Bridgewater, then please come along to the gardening club meeting in the Methodist Church when Marcus Chilton-Jones is holding a virtual meeting for the club.

In its heydey, Worsley New Hall, was a notable residence built for the 1st Earl of Ellesmere and the magnificent gardens were landscaped over a 50 year period. According to Alan Titchmarsh ‘everyone deserves access to beautiful landscapes’ so it will be a lovely afternoon sharing the views. I think there will be plenty of ‘oohs’ and ‘aahhs’. It will be a social afternoon as well with tea and coffee, so plenty of time to chat with fellow plant enthusiasts.

The meeting is on Wednesday May 4 and the doors will open at 2pm for a 2.30pm start. Please come early to browse the very popular plant swap stall with donations to Rainbows or, even better, please bring along plants or seeds of your own to share. Members of the club just £1 on the night, visitors £3. Contact Maggie on 01509 812213 for further information.
