Waggs Gang pull off cup upset to beat Bottom Railway BA to win Knockout Cup

LAST Thursday was the Semi Finals and Final of the Barrow Conservati­ve Club Knockout Cup and there was also catch up games in the Spot on Division 2.

In the Barrow Conservati­ve Club Knockout Cup the four remaining teams were the Bush Rejects,

Bottom Railway BA, Mick the Flicks Three Crowns Barrow and Barrow Cons Club Waggs Gang to compete at the Three Nuns.

In the Semi Finals the Bottom Railway BA beat the Bush Rejects 5-0 to continue their unbeaten run in all competitio­ns and Barrow Cons Club Waggs Gang beat Mick the Flicks 5-4. So the Bottom Railway went into the final as the favourites and despite Andy Hibbert hitting two maximums Waggs Gang caused an upset to claim the Knockout Cup with a 5-2 win inflicting the Bottom Railway’s first defeat of the season and denying them the League and Cup double.

In the Spot on Division 2 four catch up games were played The Plough Thorpe Acre claimed runners up spot with a 6-3 win over Bull & Bush Counts they are now 13 points clear in second place, Sean Johnston with a 180 for The Plough. The Counts three legs and the Bull and Bush Laughing Boys 8-1 win over Spot on LSU 26ERS leaves the Counts and 26ers level on 61 points. The Laughing Boys are now five points clear of Riddled with Dartitis Top Railway who beat Spot on Guys & Gals 5-4 Eric Davis with a 180 for the Guys and Gals.

The Laughing Boys and Riddled with Dartitis meet this Thursday in what will determine third place in the league. Bottom side Windmill A’s lost 5-4 to Spot on Sexy & we Throw it and are now three points behind The Counts and LSU 26ers.

This Thursday sees the conclusion of the Winter season.
