LOUGHBOROUGH DYNAMO 2 CORBY TOWN 1

LOUGHBOROUGH Dynamo came from behind to beat Corby Town 2-1 at the Newton Fallowell Stadium writes James Kendrick.

The Moes controlled the game well in tricky conditions as we moved from bright sunshine to hail and back again during the game.

However, they still managed to fall behind to an early goal which is becoming their usual pattern.

After just four minutes Dynamo were behind as they weren’t strong enough to hold off the Corby Town attacker and his shot was parried out into the path of Jordan O’Brien who finished well to make it 1-0.

But Dynamo weren’t behind for long. Just 20 minutes in, the referee gave Dynamo a free kick on the corner of the box which Daniel Gordon took and he found the corner of the net to make it 1-1.

The rest of the first half was quite cagey and there were very few chances in what was a very drab first half.

In the second half the hail storm came and this affected the way the game was played. There were very few chances for either teams as the game played towards a conclusion.

However, the hailstorm helped Dynamo as the Corby keeper misjudged the flight of the ball and fouled Kevin Bastos as he ran past him and ran in on goal.

The referee gave the Moes a penalty and Bastos stepped up and converted it to put Dynamo ahead.

After going ahead Dynamo looked comfortable and Corby rarely threatened Jay Alexander in goal.

Dynamo did have the ball in the back of the net a further two times but the linesman had his flag up on both occasions.

Dynamo’s 2-1 win means they’ve done the double over Corby Town this season and they will be hoping for similar results in their final four games of the season.
