SHEPSHED Dynamo fell to their first defeat in five games on a recent Saturday – and they weren’t helped by a naked fan running on to the pitch!

The streaker, thought to be on a stag do, disrupted the Northern Premier League game between Sutton Coldfield Town and visiting Dynamo.

It was during the second half that the unwelcome addition to the pitch arrived in nothing but just a pair of shoes and sat in the centre circle with Sutton 1-0 up.

The hosts needed a win to ease their relegation fears. But while the appearance of the cheeky streaker took attention away from the beautiful game for a short time, it did break the tension and draw a few laughs from the assembled 217 fans.

but the chilly temperatures were a noted feature of the day - something that those who captured the incident on video were keen to remark on.

“First time for everything at Sutton Coldfield Town FC today. The streaker was suffering from it being a cold day,” one fan said.

Another Sutton fan said: “This is the first time ever in the 11 seasons I’ve been going to the games I have seen a streaker.

“One of our drummers always threatens to do it if we were to get promoted, but he wouldn’t be able to get his leg over the fence if he tried.”

Sutton Coldfield Town chairman Nick Thurston said police had not been involved, but added: “Despite the amusement, the club cannot condone such behaviour. We have youngsters attending these matches.”

Sutton Coldfield went on to win the game 2-0, to leave them just three places behind Shepshed in the league table.
