Winter season draws to a close as champs remain unbeaten

LAST Thursday was the final week of the Winter season for the Loughborou­gh and District Pubs and Clubs Darts league. So all the winners and positions in all four divisions are now confirmed.

The Bottom Railway BA had already won the Bull and Bush Division One but the runners up and third were still to be decided. The Bottom Railway completed their unbeaten league season with a 5-4 victory over the Bull and Bush Lions there were three 180’s in the game two form Paul Hutchins of the Lions and one from Railway Captain Ben Ashurst who also hit a 100 finish along with Chris Peats 102 finish for the League champions.

Those four points were just enough for the Bull and Bush Lions to claim Runners Up pipping the Ring O Bells LH by one point after their gallant effort to over take the Lions with their 8-1 win over Spot on Waifs and Strays a 180 for Tim Hardy and Mitch Gregory in that game The Only other game in the division saw the Royal Oak Shooters beat Bush Rejects 5-4 Steve Stanbridge with a 180 for the Shooters.

At the bottom end of the table Spot on Waif and Strays finished at the foot of the table followed by Mick the Flicks Three Crowns Barrow and Windmill Exiles.

Various places changed hands in the Spot on Division 2 Three Nuns Bluemoon Foxes had already won the division and kept their unblemishe­d league record by beating second placed Plough Thorpe Acre 5-4 Paul Williams, R.Hawes with 180’s and Steve Folkes all with 102 finish all for the Foxes.

The Bull and Bush Laughing Boys beat the Riddlled with Dartitis Top Railway 5-4 Brad Cave with a 180 for the Laughing Boys this win and the five points form their claimed agaianst Spot On LSU 26ers meant the Laughing Boys pipped the Plough to runners up by one point. Spot on Guys and Gals won 7-2 against Windmill A’s leaving them finishing bottom three points behind LSU 26ers who could not fulfil their final fixture.

Also with the Spot on LSU Sexy and we throw it not fulfilling their fixture the Bull and Bush Counts finished third bottom five points clear of LSU 26ers.

The Three Nuns Division 3 was settled weeks ago with the Royal Oak Old Uns champions by 30 points form the Three Nuns Albiom and the Black Swan JS third beating the Three Crowns Hathern by two points. At the other end of the table Three Nuns Left Footers finished bottom seven points behind Peacock A team and the Generous Briton Beerlegs were a further eight points clear.

Top Railway Laffables have been top of the Generous Briton Division 4 all season and claimed their champions rights with a 5-4 win over the Hathern Club who subsequent­ly ended the season third. The Laffables won the league by 6 points as the Spot on Foxes beat Barrow Cons Club Discombobu­lated 7-2. The White Hart Stags ended their season with a 5-4 win over the Three Nuns Bad Habuts and Barrow Convicts missed out on third spot by three points despite their 5-4 win over Fat Sams.

This week sees the singles competitio­ns. Both competitio­ns split between Division 1 and 2 only and Division 3 and 4 only will be played at the Spot on entry is on the night £3 per person and all registered players are welcome.
