Cricket club in gofundme plea

-

SHEPSHED Cricket Club has launched a gofundme appeal in a bid to raise £25,000 to complete the refurbishment of the clubhouse and changing rooms at its Morley Lane headquarters.

The club is aiming to build on its success on the field last season which saw its mens 1st XI win the Everards Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket League Division Two title and promotion to Division One for 2023.

• Phase One includes converting a stand-alone umpires room into a female changing room and showers facility.

• Phase Two will see currents clubhouse changing rooms converted into one room and showers and toilets added.

• Phase Three will see a new bar area, extending the size to include new kitchen facilities.

• Phase Four is the refurbishment of the clubhouse main room and disabled access ramp and door modification.

A spokesman said: “We want the HQ suitable for use by the local community as well as for the game of cricket. We include within the project disabled access requirements, ladies and girls changing rooms and upgrading our main room and bar for member and community use.

“We hope the local community, past and present members, and anyone interested in using the new facilities for the use of the local and wider communities’ activities can help us to reach our goals.

“We provide for the two grounds for senior sides, six junior sides, two girls teams with a ladies team in action next year too. Our aims include making the clubhouse a major hub for the community providing not only for cricketers but many other organisations and clubs within the area.”
