Builder hands over cash to Rainbows
NEW homes builder, Miller Homes East Midlands, has donated £1,250 to Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, as part of its Community Fund Initiative.
The nationwide Community Fund initiative was set up by the new homes builder in September 2022, giving local community and charity groups the opportunity to apply for donations, with up to £10,000 available each year for East Midlands-based organisations.
Among 32 other applications, the team behind Rainbows Hospice, located just 10-minutes from Miller Homes’ Orchard Park development in Loughborough, applied and were successful, receiving the grant. The hospice provides care and holistic support for families across the East Midlands who have a baby, child, or young person with a serious or terminal illness.
As a charity, Rainbows is almost entirely dependent on donations to help provide its vital services and the donation from Miller Homes will ensure the hospice can continue its support services to families in need. Services include end of life and palliative care, bereavement support, sibling support and all-important respite breaks for the family.
Melanie Bodaly, Partnerships Development Manager at Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, said: “We’re so grateful for this generous donation from the Miller Homes Community Fund. The incredible things we do to help brighten short lives are only possible through the generosity of our supporters, and we are so pleased that Miller Homes has recognised how invaluable this is for families, babies, children and young people.”
Alastair Parsons, Area Sales Director for Miller Homes Midlands, added: “We’re thrilled to see money from our Community Fund initiative go to a charity that makes such a difference to people’s lives.
“Organisations such as Rainbows Hospice are so important to those living with serious illnesses and the range of support they provide to local families is incredible. We’re proud to be able to help the charity continue its vital services, enabling them to offer comfort and compassion during a tough time.”
