Event aims to help the elderly to make right choices
AFTER a Covid-enforced break, home care provider Home Instead is hosting another of its popular older person information days.
The free event will take place on Wednesday, March 12, from noon-4pm at Home Instead, 54 Church Gate, Loughborough, LE11 1UE.
There will be entertainment and food and drink, as well as a number of advice desks.
There will be representatives of charities; an independent elderly advisory company; a funeral directors; a wills and probate expert; a private elderly transportation company; a mobility equipment provider; an expert on detecting the signs of dementia; a pensions advisor; an end-of-life planning nurse; a chiropodist; a pharmacist and several in-home service providers such as meals on wheels and specialist cleaning services.
Jane Hunt MP will be among the guests.
A Home Instead spokeswoman said: “We appreciate that making several trips out or finding information online can be a challenge – and to ensure that we are supporting our local community we are hosting an event where many facets and services may come together to provide information to help older people make informed and the right choices in life.
“Our aim is to help people live independently at home, where they feel most comfortable, in familiar surroundings, where they can enjoy a stimulating and enhanced quality of life. “
