RUSHCLIFFE AWARDS. Sutton Bonington Show organiser Mrs Chris Littledyke was among the nominees and shortlisted for the 2023 Celebrating Rushcliffe Awards working with E.ON and having all been praised for their contribution to life in the Borough.

Residents, groups and community heroes took their place in a showcase celebration event of the great and good with media partner West Bridgford Wire at the awards ceremony that took place at Rushcliffe Arena in West Bridgford.

The event celebrated as it did the Borough’s wonderful volunteers, businesses, organisations, environmentalists and the best of its health and wellbeing, sport and food and drink sectors, with the former Sutton Bonington parish councillor’s name among those nominated for consideration of an award.

The Sutton Bonington nominee had her name put forward for the evenings most prestigious accolade, the Pride of Rushcliffe Award, with the winner being Nicola Brindley of Cograve who champions J9 and Tara’s Angels, training businesses and organisations in the Borough for free in her own time, creating a network of safe access spaces for survivors of Domestic Abuse.

Mrs Littledyke was one of three names put forward, that of the winner, Chris Lund of Keyworth and herself.

Leader of Rushcliffe Borough Council Coun. Neil Clarke led the praise to all those shortlisted for an award and to the many local sponsors who supported the accolades.

The awards celebrate the Borough’s wonderful volunteers, businesses and environmentalists, clubs, organisations, and the best of its health and wellbeing and food and drink sectors and local enterprise.

He said: “Many congratulations to our shortlisted nominees all of whom are so deserving of this recognition whether volunteering or leading by example in their chosen field.2

Coun. Clarke said The evening was to showcase the incredible people who make such a difference to people’s lives in the Borough and it was a wonderful way to celebrate their stories and achievements, so important in making Rushcliffe a great place to live.

“A thank you to E.ON and all sponsors, your support is hugely appreciated and for the roles you play in our communities.”
