Holbein Stitch

Holbein Stitch, also known as Double Running Stitch, creates the

same effect as Backstitch on the front of the work, but gives a neater appearance on the back. Work a line of Running Stitch by bringing the needle up at 1, down at 2, up at 3, down at 4 and so

on. Work back along the line filling in the gaps.
