Whipped Backstitch

First, work a line of Backstitch. Next, thread a blunt tapestry needle and bring it up from beneath the centre of the first stitch. Bring the needle out under the stitch and thread it under the next stitch from bottom to top. Continue whipping the Backstitches in the same way without piercing the fabric or thread.
