Woven Star Stitch

Draw a circle. Mark five equally spaced points. Bring the needle up at 1 then down at 3, up at 2 down at 4, up at 3 and down at 5. Continue this pattern to make a star, then repeat the pattern several times around, bringing the needle up slightly to the left of the original stitch each time until the star is filled.
