Ken Wheelwright

LRO (UK) - - News -

Legendary Land Rover restorer Ken Wheelwright has died at the age of 86.

Working a hillside farm in Yorkshire, Ken possessed a wealth of Land Rover knowledge and his rebuilt Series Is raised the bar for other restorers.

His first restorations were the Del-boys, a pair of 80-inch Series Is now owned by Land Rover. A whole raft of councours-winning Land Rovers followed, including Tickford Station Wagons and Spencer Wilks’ Series IIA.

His impact on the Land Rover community was enormous and the quality of his craftmanship kick-started the Series I restoration scene. It’s unlikely that Land Rover Classic would exist today without his work.
