An event in Poynton helped raised cash for Marie Curie Cancer Care, which provides free nursing care to people with a terminal illness in their own homes while also giving their families and loved ones emotional and practical support.

Laura Tomlinson, community fundraiser for Marie Curie in Poynton, said: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who held or attended a Blooming Great Tea Party. “We’ve seen such great ideas for tea parties taking place from tea party market stalls and teddy bears picnics. “Everyone has had a fantastic time and all the funds raised from popping the kettle on will help Marie Curie to provide more free care to terminally ill people, and essential support to their families.”
