Home hosts 30th birthday bash
A CARE home hosted a special event to celebrate 30 years of service.
Park Mount Care Home has been looking after people at its residential premises on Park Mount Drive, Macclesfield, since 1984.
On the day of the party, the home – which is owned and run by the Pallottine Missionary Sisters – erected a marquee in its grounds, in which a Mass was delivered to its sisters, guests, residents, volunteers, families and staff.
Guests had arrived at 10am, when refreshments were provided before the service took place.
Sister Mary McNulty welcomed everyone, and the hour long Mass was conducted by father John Martin, who was assisted by resident priest, Father John Woods.
Molly Riley, who works at the home, said: “After Mass, guests were invited to enjoy the hospitality provided by The Pallottine Sisters.
“All the catering for the buffet was done in-house by our award winning chef and his dedicated team.
“A raffle was provided to help raise funds for Park Mount residents and daycare.
“Prizes included a hamper, a bouquet of flowers, wine and chocolates and three mystery envelopes.”
In order to capture the last 30 years, a brochure was published which records the history of the home from its conception in 1984 to the present day.
The brochure, which features photographs and quotes from the period, was offered to all attendees as a memento of the day.
