City base and jobs are all 4U

- ALEX BELL

CAR finance firm Car Loan 4U has opened an office in Manchester city centre.

The Macclesfield headquartered outfit moved into the fourth floor of the Acresfield building in St Ann’s Square.

Bosses say the new base will allow Car Loan 4U to create another 50 jobs this year.

The office is an addition to its 12,000 sq ft at Winterton House on Lyme Green Business Park in Macclesfield, where the firm already employs more than 250 people.

Car Loan 4U chief executive James Wilkinson said the move is a result of continued growth that has seen 100 per cent year-onyear progression over the past four years.

James, who was axed as a professional footballer at Rochdale Football Club just over a decade ago, said earlier this year that the firm he co-founded in 2006 was on course to turn over £23m in 2015.

The 33-year-old added: “We’re very excited about moving into Acresfield.

“The facilities in the building are excellent and for us to grow in line with our ambitions we need a first class working environment that, alongside a great benefits package, will enable us to continue building a world class team here at Car Loan 4U.

“Marketing, tech and product teams will be moving to Manchester and along with the fit-out in Acresfield we are also planning to overhaul our existing facilities in Macclesfield and grow our Sales and Operations teams by 25 per cent this year.”

OBI Property represented Car Loan 4U on acquiring the new lease and was appointed to design and project manage the new fit out.

Will Lewis, of OBI Property, said: “It has been great to work with such a dynamic business and we are sure Acresfield will provide a perfect platform for CarLoan4U to continue its rapid growth.

“The OBI approach has ensured that our client benefitted from best value in acquiring the new lease, interior design and project management of the fit out”.

Aberdeen Asset Management completed a refurbishment of the building in late 2014 which has transformed the quality of the space on offer.

The deal closely follows the recent letting to Morgan Hunt in the building.

The building is easily accessible from both Piccadilly and Victoria Railway stations and the Metrolink can be reached at both Piccadilly Gardens and St Peter’s Square.

Savills represented the landlord on the transaction.

Car Loan 4U join commercial estate agents, Christie & Co and Tushingham Moore as tenants of the building.
