●● DOZENS of readers took to facebook to vent their anger after our story about vandalism at Macclesfield Cemetery. Emily Tinkabell Grundy: I’m sure they were really proud of themselves!! Absolute disgrace. Lynda Speakman: This is terrible and just mindless vandalism. They need naming and shaming and be made to fix up the graves. Julie Fletcher: Absolutely awful, some people have no respect for the dead or relatives who will be heartbroken to see their loved ones’ graves like this. Julie Thorp: That’s just horrid. People have enough emotion going to the cemetery. Samantha Fernley: I was on a history tour of this cemetery on the Sunday afternoon and thought it was a beautiful place. The team there clearly work very hard and suffer from not only having equipment stolen but also with people pinching the bedding plants. I hope the vandals get what they deserve. Mel Pearson: Trouble is, if they find them they will get a slap on the wrist. Need to have real punishment and then hopefully they will realise it will not be tolerated. Mel Anie: An absolute disgrace to the families of the dead, they probably fought the war for us. Scumbags. Anne-Marie Hibbert: I believe in ghosts so I hope those who did this get visited by those souls. Samie Jane Turner: I’m willing to help and clean it up if a few of us can get together and sort it out. Disrespectful, it’s people’s resting place. Neil Allen: Should bring back National Service, then I’m sure kids would not even contemplate doing things like that. ●● THERE was lots of support for Micky Blair after he told us he had billed a parking firm after fighting a parking ticket. Michael Hargreaves: Fantastic, good luck Micky! Michelle Howle Freudenau: Well done!! I am awaiting a reply following a letter of complaint about my extortionate parking fine... The company emailed me a receipt as proof of payment and still tried fining me!! The system clearly isn’t working. Emma Budge: My 68-year-old dad was pursued for 18 months before they gave up. What’s worrying is that if I hadn’t told him to put the letters straight in the shredder he would have probably paid over £200 to them from his valuable pension money. Disgusting and makes me feel sick for the vulnerable who don’t have anyone to stick up for them. Mandy Richards: About time someone beat them at their own game, well done!
