Building society gets baking to make £600

STAFF and customers at a building society have raised more than £600 for the Bosley victims and families.

The team at the building society’s St Edward Street branch sold cakes and held a raffle for the Bosley Disaster Appeal Fund, adding to money raised at a head office dress down day.

Richard said: “The disaster has touched so many lives that I think we all know of someone affected in some way; I live round the corner from one lady who lost her husband in the explosion.”

He added that the response from customers had been marvellous, as had the generous donations from local firms and the cakes made by branch and head office staff.

The money will add to the thousands of pounds already raised for the fund.
