-

THEY finished 12th in the division last season after winning 19 of their games, 15 points behind Macclesfield.

CHESTER are managed by Macclesfield legend Steve Burr, who spent eight years at the Silkmen from 1984 to 1992. He scored their first ever goal in the Football Conference after helping the side earn promotion into the top tier of non-league football.

WAYNE Rooney’s younger brother John is Chester’s striker and will also be returning to Macclesfield having spent two years at the club from 2008 to 2010.

CHESTER head into the match on the back of a 5-2 defeat to Woking at the Kingfield Stadium last Saturday.
