Haslam’s men keep up promising start
AFC Macclesfield maintained their winning start to the season by overturning West Didsbury and Chorlton at home last Tuesday.
Macclesfield took the lead on 30 minutes after Chris Megarrell crossed from the right, and a cushioned volley by Mathers set Chris Allen up to smash the ball in the bottom corner to make it two in two for Allen.
Macc had to wait until the second half for the next goal.
Manager Ed Haslam changed things up by introducing Scott Wright and Jack Banister, and their contribution soon paid off.
A corner came into the box from the left, allowing centre half Mike Byrne to find space in the area and volley the ball into the top corner.
