Businesses to be celebrated in annual awards

-

RESIDENTS of Poynton and visitors are being urged to help celebrate the best businesses in the town.

The Poynton Achievements in Customer Excellence (PACE) awards aims to reward staff as well as the businesses.

Nominations are now open for the following categories: retail and eateries, business-tobusiness, service provider, open category, and employee of the year.

Poynton Mayor Rebecca HorsmanJohnson launched the awards at the Poynton In Business stand at the Poynton Show.

She said: “The awards are now in their third year and are the only truly local Poynton business awards whereby customers get to vote for their favourite businesses and staff members.

“The award categories cover all Poynton business from shops and restaurants to professionals and business services, so they are just as relevant to business users as they are to shoppers.”

The closing date for nominations is Friday, October 9.

As an incentive to take part, the Town Council is offering all voters the chance to win £50 or £100 worth of local shopping vouchers.

There will also be a prize of £75 of vouchers for the exceptional person voted Poynton Employee of the Year.

The awards will to be presented at the Poynton In Business annual dinner on Friday, November 20 at Davenport Golf Club.

The PACE awards are sponsored by Poynton Town Council. Previous winners include Mates DIY, Waitrose, Anson Engine Museum and Typo-Graphics.

Nomination forms are available from Poynton Civic Hall and www. poyntoninbusiness.co.uk.

Poynton in Business was set up to encourage the use of businesses and boost the reputation of Poynton for its range and quality.

It will next meet at the Royal Bank of Scotland on Wednesday, October 14 at 5.30pm.
