Golf day raises hospice funds
A FUN filled event hosted by Tytherington Golf Club has raised more than £700 for charity.
The day was organised by Macclesfield Tennis Club which welcomed players and friends to take part in a friendly golf tournament.
James Rouse, tennis club committee member, said: “We were blessed with beautiful weather for the tennis club golf at The Tytherington Club and seven teams took part in the competition which was won by Ian Worrall’s team with a score of 87.”
The winning team was made up of Peter Davis, Ian Worrall, Nick Homes and Matt Gillibrand, who took part in the Stableford competition.
The competition preceded a fun-filled evening with more than 80 guests enjoying a dinner and entertainment at the club.
James added: “Forty players and guests joined us for the evening dinner and we were royally entertained after the meal by Becky Mills who did an hour long set of her own music and covers. The day was held to raise money for East Cheshire Hospice (ECH) and thanks to the great generosity of players and raffle prize donators we were able to send a cheque to ECH for £721 from the proceeds on the day. Particular thanks are due to Chris Brereton and Jane Rouse who did the raffle and took the team photos.”
The competition included prizes for nearest the pin, longest drive and champagne moment.
Entertainment was provided by guitarist and singer/songwriter Becky Mills.
