Chineo fires King’s to Primary Schools crown
KING’S Infant and Junior Division football team have lifted the Macclesfield Primary Schools under 11 trophy for the fourth time in five years thanks to a clinical display of finishing from Leo Chineo.
Real Madrid supporter and lethal striker Leo bagged 11 goals in just six games as the tournament’s top striker combining strength, skill and a eye for goal off both flanks.
His strikes included King’s last goal in a 3 – 0 win in the final against St. John’s and was a bullet first time strike into the top corner from the edge of the box.
King’s had opened the scoring when incisive wing back Noah Reaney delivered a slide rule pass for the eagle eyed Danny Williams to give the ‘keeper the eye and pass the ball into the opposite corner.
Their second came when intelligent playmaker Luke Wilson picked put the dancing Harrison Milner who fired home from 15 yards.
In the round robin King’s had beaten Hurdsfield 5-1, Upton Priory 6-0, Dean Valley 2-0 and Whirley 6-0. Then in the semi-final they beat Prestbury 4-0, scoring a total of 26 goals in the blue ribbon Macclesfield and District Schools’ event conceding only once. King’s Juniors’ Football “They are a great bunch of lads and a joy to coach as they all absolutely love the game and work naturally together as a team. There are no stars, they are a collective,” said coach Mike Walton.
