Last chance for seat at awards ceremony

- KAREN BRITTON

IT’S the last chance to buy tickets for this year’s North East Cheshire Business Awards.

The judging panel has been picking the winners in each category for this year’s awards which are taking place for the fifth time to celebrate the cream of the business community in Macclesfield and around the area.

There has been a record number of businesses entering this year with firms of all types and sizes entering 10 award categories and a shortlist of finalists are waiting to find out if they will pick up awards.

The winners will be presented at a glittering black tie event coming up this month at The Mere.

Tickets have been selling fast for the presentation, dinner and dance but there is still time to buy tickets.

Organisers from the Macclesfield Chamber of Commerce say it’s the perfect chance to meet people from other businesses around the area.

Sue Bowden, manager of Macclesfield Chamber of Commerce, urged businesses not to miss out on tickets for the night.

She said: “The finalists have been shortlisted and the focus now is on the gala dinner.

“The standard and level of entries has been outstanding, so the gala dinner is going to be an exciting culmination of a fantastic year for the awards.

“This is the last chance for tickets so book your table and join us for what promises to be the biggest business event in North East Cheshire.

“It’s a fantastic black tie event, starting at 6.45pm with a champagne reception followed by a threecourse dinner and the awards ceremony.

“And to round off the evening with a celebratory party atmosphere, there will be dancing and music from Nathan Turner, then carriages at 12.30pm. The awards are a fantastic networking opportunity.”

Guest speaker on the night is James Timpson OBE who is boss of the familiar Timpson brand which has shops offering shoe repairs and key cutting among its services.

The night is also a chance to support wellloved Sutton charity The Rossendale Trust, which cares for adults with learning and physical disabilities.

Donations made on the night and money from a raffle and auction will go to the charity.

The gala dinner at The Mere in Knutsford is on Thursday, November 19.
