Sleigh tour raises £5,100 for needy causes
RESIDENTS have been praised for donating a whopping £5,100 during this year’s Santa Sleigh tour.
The annual event organised by Macclesfield Round Table aims to raise cash for local charities and good causes.
Local charities are now being asked to apply for funding or support by January 31.
Chair of Macclesfield Round Table, Ben Whiteley, said: “Once again I would like to say a massive thank you to the kind hearted and generous people of Macclesfield who have responded magnificently to our annual collection.
“It is very encouraging to me as chair that the Round Table brand is still very welcome and hugely recognised on all the doorsteps of Macclesfield.
“I would also like to thank Round Table chief elf Carl Enser for organising and supporting Santa’s Sleigh in 2015, all current Round Tablers, Peter Pan club members and 41 club members for pitching in on every sleigh run from the middle of December up to Christmas Eve.
“This year we were also delighted to be supported by other voluntary organisations and local businesses.”
