Mystery grandfather clock under the hammer

A GRANDFATHER clock built in the town is being auctioned on Friday.

Adam Partridge Auctioneers, on Withyfold Drive, is selling a late 18th/early 19th century clock which bears the name “John Thorley, Macclesfield” inscribed on the dial.

Unfortunately there is little known about the clock, which will be sold at auction in Macclesfield on January 22.
