RECENT cases heard at South and East Cheshire magistrate­s court: ●● JOHN James Maunder, 66, of Vaudrey Crescent, Congleton, denied assault in Macclesfie­ld. He was bailed to attend court on March 22 for the trial. ●● RYAN Gilsenan, 22, of Withnell Road, Blackpool, admitted being drunk and disorderly at Hollin Hall, Macclesfie­ld, and resisting a police officer and assaulting a police officer. He was given a community order with 80 hours unpaid work. ●● ANTHONY Walsh, 50, of Cranford Avenue, Macclesfie­ld, admitted assault and criminal damage. He was fined £115 and ordered to pay £75 compensati­on. ●● BAYAR Ahmed, 25, of Lamport Court, Manchester, admitted driving without due care and attention, and failing to report an accident on Vincent Street, Macclesfie­ld. He was fined £75 and had his licence endorsed with five points. ●● KRISTOPHER Jean Pierre Groot, 34, of Weller Close, Poynton, admitted assault. He was fined £35 and ordered to pay £50 compensati­on. ●● LIAM Andrew Amery, 24, of Daven Road, Congleton, admitted driving without due care and attention, driving without insurance or a licence, and failing to supply a specimen when suspected of drink driving. He was given a community order with 120 hours unpaid work and banned from driving for 18 months. ●● PAUL James McGetrick, 43, of Hatton Street, Macclesfie­ld, admitted two charges of assault, criminal damage of a mobile phone and assaulting a police officer. He was given a community order with 140 hours unpaid work. ●● RICHARD John Mills, 47, of High Street, Bollington, admitted drink driving. He was given a community order with curfew for 12 weeks banning him from leaving his house between 7pm and 7am. He was also fined £160 and disqualifi­ed for 28 months. ●● JORDAN Graham Thorley, 22, of Lincoln Place, Macclesfie­ld, admitted permitting Tom Grundy to use a motor vehicle when there was no insurance in place. He was fined £150. ●● NAEEM Amjad, 48, of Peregrine Road, Stockport, was found guilty of assault in Macclesfie­ld. He was fined £180 and ordered to pay £100 compensati­on. ●● BENEDICTO Honrado Perez, 39, of Catherine Street, Macclesfie­ld, admitted assault. He was bailed to attend court for sentencing today (January 13). ●● SEAN David Andrew Roberts, 39, of Nelson Street, Macclesfie­ld, admitted destroying a hands free telephone belonging to Cheshire Police. He also admitted resisting a PC. He was given a conditiona­l discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £66 compensati­on. ●● VINCENT James Fletcher, 32, of Briarwood Avenue, Macclesfie­ld, admitted using threatenin­g, abusive or insulting words of behaviour, theft of a rucksack belonging to a police officer, theft of food and assault of a police officer. He was given a three month prison sentence suspended for 12 months. He must also attend drug rehabilita­tion and pay £100 compensati­on.
