Tree kept memories of loved ones alight
MEMORIES of lost loved ones were kept alive, helped by a highly successful Light Up A Life campaign run by East Cheshire Hospice.
The seasonal appeal raised more than £22,000 in donations from supporters celebrating the life of someone special.
More than 800 written tribute messages were displayed on baubles on a Christmas tree in the hospice chapel as part of a wider Light Up A Life fundraising campaign during December.
A service of remembrance at which Prestbury Choral Society provided entertainment was attended by a record number of people, underlining the appeal’s popularity.
East Cheshire Hospice events manager Jessica Ruth said: “It was the first year we’d held the service at the hospice and the feedback was extremely positive. We’d like to thank everyone who made a donation to support our Light Up a Life Appeal, which was a poignant way to remember a loved one.”
