Apprentices show MP what they can bring to business
MP for Macclesfield David Rutley had the opportunity to witness first-hand how apprenticeships are benefitting local young people and businesses.
Mr Rutley met with the two new apprentices at Tytherington-based training provider Optimality, which has recently moved to Tytherington Business Park, and is an organisation which specialises in optimising business performance.
It does this by creating and delivering sales, customer experience and leadership development training solutions, each tailored to the particular company it is dealing with.
Bosses decided to recruit apprentices to support the company’s work of providing people development solutions.
The apprentices, Phoebe Keen and Joe Callender, will both be trained through Optimality’s own internal training academy.
The pair will also be supported to attend Macclesfield College so they can complete their NVQ Level 2.
Mr Rutley met with Phoebe and Joe to find out about how they are hoping the apprenticeship will develop their skills and experience and what their future plans are.
He also met with Optimality’s managing partner Arron Taylor, and Sarah Taylor, head of learning partnerships, who explained why apprentices are so important to their business model.
Speaking following the meeting, David said: “It was great to meet Phoebe and Joe and to find out how the scheme with Optimality is of benefit to them. It was also great to see how local businesses are able to effectively create apprenticeships in order to develop and grow.
“Apprenticeships are an important way of offering young people a dynamic way in which to begin their career.
“I would like to wish Phoebe and Joe well with their studies and future careers, and I wish Optimality every success for the future.”
