Supporters invited to boost budget

-

MACCLESFIELD Town Football Club has revealed details of an unique initiative that could see supporters not only help to contribute to the playing budget, but also share in the benefits that come with promotion to the Football League!

Following on from last season’s successful “10K Dash” the Silkmen are inviting individuals or any businessesto help bolster John Askey’s playing budget for the new season.

If this is something that you would like to do, the club has launched the ‘Silkmen 2016/17 Campaign Fund’, a scheme that allows people to contribute in multiples of £50 to go towards the playing budget in order to give Macclesfield Town Football Club the best chance of success this season and with a target of achieving promotion back to the EFL.

Should the Silkmen receive promotion from the National League at the end of the season, then any contributor can exchange their certificate for double their original contribution.

Club chairman Mark Blower explained the thoughts behind the scheme.

He said: “We wanted to give supporters the opportunity to influence the success of Macclesfield Town, but at the same time didn’t want to be seen as coming out with the begging bowl.

“This is the beauty of this initiative.

“It gives supporters the chance to personally contribute to the playing budget with the benefit of seeing a financial return on that contribution if the club is promoted at the end of the 2016/17 season.

“We are very much hope that our fans will want to be able to make a direct impact on John’s playing squad and help to give the team the best chance of success this year.”

The fundraising project last season was backed by an anonymous overseas benefactor who has once again shown his commitment to the project with the promise of a significant contribution towards the £100,000 target and we very much hope that others will follow suit, every £50 contribution makes a difference

Contributions are welcomed immediately and this can be arranged by contacting the Football Club either in person at the main reception or by calling 01625 264686 and speaking to Rob Heys or any of the team in the office.

Contributions to this scheme will end at 3pm on August 6th as Macc kick off the new season at home to Torquay.
