●● LOTS of our Facebook followers have reacted to the recent approval of King’s School applications. Richard Streets: Absolute disgrace, have the councillors actually been to the crossroads by the rugby club at 08.45 in the morning on a school day? Are King’s School going to be charged to redevelop the road system in that area? Paul Dunlevy: Shame really. That site would have been a fantastic and much needed housing estate. Instead the houses will be crammed into a space with no access. Come on Macc get out of the dark ages. Sacrifice a little green and improve people’s lives. Nat Bailey: Absolutely ridiculous – never been so annoyed about plans being ‘approved’. Ruining our ‘picturesque’ town with yet more build- ing sites. Fence Avenue already struggles with congestion. Well done!! Ahlene Dawson: I bought a property that was built on the footprint of an old factory, using existing plumbing, parking etc. It’s not rocket science. Sheepy Lambski: Absolutely ridiculous and as ridiculous as the building of houses on Congleton playing fields. You cannot tell me there is no other choice than green belt in Macclesfield to build on. Alexander Lawton Truswell: So a school and 100s of houses are approved for the greenbelt... what is the point in the greenbelt then!? Nick Mannion: All the local councillors on the committee voted to refuse, yet the other five members, from elsewhere in Cheshire East, voted to approve. Result 5-5 tie. Chair (Disley) used casting vote to approve.
