●● ORGANISERS are gearing up for this months Poynton Show.

The event on August 26 is shaping up to be better than ever with dozens of spectacula­r acts added to the bill.

So far the main ring is set to feature the Cheshire Drag Hunt, Ben Potter’s eagle and vulture display, Stannage Internatio­nal Stunt Team, the Chase Me Charlie equestrian event, vintage machinery, Hare & Hounds classic cars, a tug of war for children and adults, shire horses and the Grand Parade. The community ring will feature Pixie Cheer cheerleade­rs, Voice to Voice Choir and Dance Addicts. The Imagine Entertainm­ent stage has a host of acts including: Alexander Stewart Jazz Master, soprano Scarlett Quigley, the Debut Dance Academy, NK Theatre Arts, a Frozen Show with Elsa and Anna, Roy Bennett and Declan O’Gara.

A spokesman for the show said: “We are making great progress organising this year’s show. We have some brilliant main attraction­s this year and lots of local people taking part around the showground. We had amazing attendance last year and would like to thank everyone for coming along and we hope to see you again this year.”

The show is taking bookings for the trade, craft and foodhall.

Poynton Town Council is offering the Civic Hall for hire during the summer holiday.

Hire for events like birthday parties, an indoor picnic or badminton, includes use of the main hall, including kitchen area, for £15 per hour.
