High praise for town’s mental health unit
AMENTAL health unit has received national recognition for its high quality service and care.
Greenways Assessment and Treatment Unit, based on Chester Road and part of Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CWP), has been awarded the Accreditation for Inpatient Mental Health Services (AIMS) after meeting specific standards set by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
The inpatient unit, which was ranked as ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) last year, was given the honour after an assessment of its quality of facilities, staffing, care, patient safety and treat- ment process. Angela Southern, ward manager, said: “We’re really pleased to receive our AIMS accreditation, especially following such a successful CQC inspection.
“This was a real team effort that involved everyone in the unit.
“We’re all very proud of the high standards we maintain here and we’re thrilled that our positive work is being recognised nationally.”
