Delight as pupils make the grade

- TYTHERINGTON SCHOOL

THIS has been another excellent year for Fallibroome’s GCSE students.

Thirty four per cent of grades awarded were of the highest standard (A*or A).

Achievement in the core subjects was very impressive, with 73pc of students achieving five A*-C including maths and English, 84pc achieving A*-C in maths, and 80pc in English.

Among the students celebrating were Finn Chapman, Mae Eales and Dulcie Whadcock, who achieved the remarkable feat of getting A* grades in all of their 11 subjects.

Isobel Taylor and Amy Morris achieved 10 A* grades and one A, and overall, 38 students achieved nine or more A*/A grades.

Francis Power, head of school, said: “We are incredibly proud of these students as we know how much hard work has been done by them to achieve such excellent outcomes.

“We are equally proud of the very large number of our students who have met or exceeded the targets that have been set for them.

“Achieving these targets takes just as much hard work and commitment from our staff and students and we are consequently delighted to see so many achieving the grades that allow them to move on to the next phase of their education successfully.

“We wish all of our students ongoing success, whether they have chosen to continue their studies in our Sixth Form or elsewhere.”
