Fitzpatrick Branagan, MACCLESFIELD Town assistant manager Steve Watson admitted it was a bad day at the office for his side following their 2-1 home defeat against Lincoln City on Saturday.

Kingsley James had given the Silkmen the lead in the first half after the midfielder scored from close range, but goals from Harry Anderson and substitute Adam Marriott after the interval ensured that it was the visitors who took all three points at the Moss Rose.

Watson was disappointed with his team and felt that they didn’t show what they are capable of.

“Even when we took the lead in the first half we weren’t at our best,” he told the club’s official website.

“We scored a good goal but we didn’t get Danny Whitaker on the ball enough. He showed when he was on the ball that he was our main threat and he created a good goal.

“Lincoln got too many turn overs in the first half, they were turning and facing our goal more than any other team has done this season, the aim was to get to half time and put that right and give all the information needed but that didn’t happen.”
