MP’s best wishes to busy Royal Mail team
MACCLESFIELD MP David Rutley paid a visit to pass on his thanks and Christmas wishes to all the staff at Royal Mail’s Macclesfield delivery office during their busiest time of the year.
Mr Rutley was shown around the office by Mark Bethell, delivery office manager, and was introduced to the hard working postmen and women, who are busy sorting and delivering mail in the Macclesfield area in time for the festive season.
The Royal Mail has this year commemorated the 500th anniversary of the knighting of Brian Tuke, the first Master of the Posts, by King Henry VIII, which initiated the creation of what is today known as Royal Mail. To this day, Royal Mail plays an important role in delivering Christmas for consumers and businesses alike.
Following the visit, Mr Rutley said: “It was great to once again meet the team here at Macclesfield delivery office, and thank them all for their efforts over the busy festive period.
“Our postal workers do such an important job at this time of year, and my visit today has reminded me just how much effort and dedication goes into delivering an excellent service at the Royal Mail’s busiest time of year. I would like to wish them all the best for the Christmas season and the year ahead.”
Manager Mark Bethell said: “It was a pleasure to show David our Christmas operation and to hear his kind words of encouragement and support.
“We are extremely proud of our postmen and women for all their hard work during the festive season and for continuing our proud history of delivering Christmas mail.”
