Charity hails ‘amazing’ volunteers

A CHARITY which provides vital support and advice is hailed the work of its dedicated team of volunteers.

Citizens Advice Cheshire North, based in Macclesfie­ld, relies on the contributi­on of 54 volunteers to help people find a way forward.

To mark Volunteers’ Week the charity decided to shine a spotlight on its remarkable team, which gives up more than 250 hours a week to the charity.

Will McKellar, chief officer at Citizens Advice Cheshire North, said: “Thanks to our amazing volunteers we are able to continue making a huge difference to people’s lives.

“In the last year, Citizens Advice Cheshire North has helped people in the community with over 2,800 new enquiries ranging from housing and debt issues to benefits and employment rights.

“The charity’s volunteers have played a crucial role ensuring people in Macclesfie­ld and the surroundin­g area get the advice and support they need to get on with their lives.”

Citizens Advice provides free, confidenti­al and independen­t advice to help people overcome their problems.

The charity provides advice sessions at locations in Macclesfie­ld, Alderley Edge, Knutsford, Wilmslow and Poynton to try to ensure availabili­ty of advice to all.
