Good sales figures lead to charity boost

-

A CAR dealership has raised more than £4,000 for charity.

Bristol Street Motors Vauxhall, based at Lyme Green Business Park, Macclesfield, raised the money for the East Cheshire Hospice by holding a ‘sell-a-thon’.

The Lyme Green Business Park car dealership pledged to donate a sum of money for every new car it sold throughout March and April, managing to raise a fantastic £4,400 for the charity.

This is the third year that the dealership has supported East Cheshire Hospice, raising a grand total of approximately £10,000.

Christopher Webb, general manager at the Lyme Green showroom, said: “East Cheshire Hospice provides essential help to many hundreds of people from across the region during their most difficult times.

“As a local business, employing and serving people from the area, we are only too pleased to be able to give it our support.”

The money will be used to help fund care for people who are facing challenges at the end of their lives.

Camila Crockett, corporate fundraising officer for East Cheshire Hospice, said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to Bristol Street Motors Vauxhall Macclesfield for their continued support.

“It was a fantastic idea to donate £50 to the Hospice for every car sold during their ‘sell-a-thon’ in March and April, and it is a great example of how a local business can support their local Hospice.

“We would like to thank Chris and David and the whole team at Bristol Street Motors Vauxhall for their support, the money raised will support people in the local community who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness.”

The fundraising has proved to be such a success that Christopher Webb and the team at Macclesfield will again donate £50 per car to East Cheshire Hospice on every car sold and delivered during August and September 2017.
