To pull clear

Hough looked elegant at the crease and went chanceless as he passed his second 50 of the season, Edgar complementing him with some fine shots early on. As the drinks break approached, Bollington reached their first milestone as they passed 100 and were well in control at the half way mark.

Both batsmen looked in fine form as they took the hosts ever closer to the target, and with the scores passing 130-1, Edgar brought up his half century off 64 balls. With just 36 required off the remaining 16 overs, Tudor removed Edgar for 52 to give the visitors some hope of taking something from the game.

Tudor then struck again, Ward falling for 5, caught behind by Mel- rose. But Hough finished the match to see Bollington take the full 25 points with a brilliant knock, falling just three runs short of his first century of the season with 97 not out.

Victory for Bollington put them in fifth position as they take on strugglers Warrington next week where they look to continue their good form.

Macc played their sec- ond T20 group stage match against Alderley Edge last Thursday. Macc bowled first, as Alderley posted an intimidating total of 184-5 off their 20 overs as Calum Rowe top scored with 73 and Adam Worrall made an impressive 68. In reply, Macc started well through Birchall (17) and Porter (25), but when they departed Macc struggled to keep up with the rate. Oli Marsden made a quickfire 32, with a couple of big sixes along with good cameos from Griffiths (18) and Moores (15), but unfortunately Macc just couldn’t find the boundary often enough and finished on 139 all out off 19.1 overs.

Macc are back in action at home next week to Oulton Park.
