Lowe out to prove himself
NEW Macclesfield signing Keith Lowe is keen to ensure that he gets as much game time as possible during the pre-season period as he aims to prove his worth to his team-mates.
Lowe joined Macclesfield after leaving National League North side Kidderminster after he was told he could leave the Aggborough club on a free transfer in June.
He is set to wear a Silkmen shirt for the first time when the club host Championship Outfit Derby County on Saturday.
“I want to prove that I have the ability to make a difference to the team,” Lowe said of his involvement in the pre-season schedule.
“It has provided me with a great chance to learn my teammates and how I can complement their style of play. It gives you an opportunity to mold a team if you like.”
Lowe, who has represented a number of Football League clubs during his 13-year playing career, admits competition for places is set to be high ahead of the new season.
“There’s a lot of good players here, that’s why I’m sure we’ll be successful in the long term.
“Everyone knows you have to earn the shirt and work even harder to keep hold of it.
“Competition is important to any team because you need people pushing you all the way in a team.
“The lads look sharp, confident and looking like they could go places.
“Hopefully, for us, we can match that confidence with some good performances.”
