Motors firm driving donations for cause

-

A MACCLESFIELD car dealership is aiming to motor to a fundraising record for East Cheshire Hospice.

Bristol Street Motors Vauxhall Macclesfield has launched its fourth sell-a-thon event since 2015 after raising £4,000 for the charity earlier this year.

The dealership, which is located at Lyme Green Business Park, has donated £50 for every new car sold in August and will continue the contributions into September, hoping to bring the total raised so far to £16,000.

In March a similar event raised around £4,000 but the company is hoping to top that with their current event.

“We’re delighted to continue our partnership with the hospice,” says David Woodward, sales manager at Bristol Street Vauxhall. “Nearly everyone in the town has been grateful for the work of all the staff there, including myself. My Nana, Pam, was well looked after there at the end of her life.

“We are proud to be a local business that can give our support so East Cheshire Hospice can continue providing a high level of care to its patients.”

Camilla Crockett, corporate and community relationships manager at East Cheshire Hospice, said: “We would like to thank David, the team at Bristol Street Motors and all those car buyers for their continued support.

“East Cheshire Hospice relies heavily on donations, receiving less than 20 per cent of its running costs from local NHS funds, and its great to have the support of our business community.”

The money raised goes towards the £4 million East Cheshire Hospice needs every year to deliver its high quality care to patients and their families in the Macclesfield area and beyond.
