Women cleared of false imprisonment
TWO women accused of falsely imprisoning a man against his will have been cleared.
Ivana Mancini, 50, of Abbey Road in Macclesfield, and Lorna Simpson, 62, of St Thomas Road, St Anne’s on Sea, appeared at Chester Crown Court this week accused of locking a man in Ms Mancini’s flat on Abbey Road on July 6 this year and refusing to let him leave.
Ms Mancini was also accused of assaulting the man and stealing his bank cards.
Both women were cleared at a trial.
The false imprisonment charge against Ms Simpson was dropped after the prosecution and defence agreed there was a lack of evidence.
The trial continued in relation to Ms Mancini but the jury cleared her and returned not guilty verdicts on all three charges.
