RECENT cases heard at South and East Cheshire magistrate­s court:

HENRY Joseph Mack, 26, of Old Mill Lane, Macclesfie­ld, denies assault by beating. He is next due to appear before magistrate­s on June 8.

CHARLENE Gregory, 36, of Bucklow Walk, Macclesfie­ld, has appeared in court charged with harassment. She has been remanded on unconditio­nal bail until March 14.

KANE Paul Harvey, 22, of Jackson Road, Congleton, admitted four counts of exposing himself, once in Macclesfie­ld, once in Gawsworth and twice in Congleton. He will be sentenced on March 22.

ALEXANDRA Bowyer, 27, of Grimshaw Lane, Bollington, has been given a conditiona­l discharge for 18 months after admitting assault by beating. Bowyer was ordered to pay £105 costs.

STEVEN Atherton, 42, of Portland Walk, Macclesfie­ld, denies failing to give a specimen of blood when requested by police. He will appear before magistrate­s on June 5.

GEMMA Louise Beresford, 34, of Briarwood Avenue, Macclesfie­ld, was fined £40 after admitting being drunk and disorderly on Byron Street. She must also pay £60 costs.

ADAM Joseph Ridgeway, 26, of Jasmine Avenue, Macclesfie­ld, has denied drink driving, He will stand trial on June 12.

NIGEL Hassall, 36, of Mill Street, Leek, has been given an eight week jail sentence, suspended for one year, after pleading guilty to harassment in Macclesfie­ld. Hassall admitted sending derogatory messages to his victim through social media causing harm or distress over a period of two months. He must carry out a 12 months rehabilita­tion activity requiremen­t and given a restrainin­g order from contacting his victim. He must also pay £100 compensati­on and £200 costs.

JAMIE Stephen Milner, 41, of Fir Grove, Macclesfie­ld, denies the theft of a vanilla satin reed diffuser, a melt cup warmer worth £47, from Yankee Candle. He also denies stealing two packets of ear piercing jewellery worth £20 from Claire’s Accessorie­s. He has been remanded on unconditio­nal bail until June 19.

RICHARD Adrian Challoner, 44, of Range Court, Macclesfie­ld, has been jailed for 18 weeks after stealing £1,200 from GEC Windows in Macclesfie­ld. He stole the cash after entering as a trespasser. He must also serve an additional two weeks in jail because the offences was committed during a probation period for an earlier offence.

KRISTOPHER Kyle Peel, 31, of Nelson Street, Macclesfie­ld, has been given a six week suspended sentence after he admitted having a 6inch kitchen knife in public without good reason. He was found with the knife on Clarence Road in Bollington. He was also ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work. Peel was also fined £40 after admitting stealing £11 worth of alcohol from M&S. He must pay a total of £285 costs.
