Jewellers add some sparkle to Winter Ball

WINTER is bound to shine bright like a diamond for one lucky person as Macclesfield jewellers, PR Jones, announce that they are donating a half-carat diamond pendant, worth £3,000, for this year’s East Cheshire Hospice winter ball.

For the fifth year, the family jewellers will bring an added bit of sparkle to the hugely popular raffle at the Winter Dreams Ball which is due to take place later this month at Mere Golf Resort and Spa.

Sharon Ronnie of the Ball organising committee says: “We are absolutely delighted that the Jones family have once again supported us with this wonderful prize. Last year the raffle alone brought in £10,000 for the Hospice and we are hoping to top that this year.”

Sharon and her fellow organising committee members Ginny Blunt, Jo Dalton, Marya Signey and Sophie Johnston, hope they can raise a record £100,000 at this year’s event to mark a stunning end to the hospice 30th anniversary celebrations.

The diamond is being donated by the Jones’ family of Greeba, Michael and David Jones. Michael Jones says he is honoured to be supporting the Hospice once again. The hospice is a very valuable asset to our community and we are very happy to help again this year,” he says. “I’m delighted to say that diamonds never go out of fashion and we hope this one will bring in lots of much-needed funds for the hospice.”

Tickets, priced £85 each, are now on sale for the Ball which will take place on Friday, November 30. Besides the raffle, the evening will also feature an array of entertainment including dancers, singers, DJ and a live band.

Events manager, Jo Boyd, says the Hospice is extremely grateful for the support of local businesses. She says: “Fingers crossed we hit the £100,000 mark this year – that would be incredible.”
