Pas­sen­gers in dra­matic car res­cue as ve­hi­cle lands on its side

A DRIVER and three pas­sen­gers were res­cued af­ter the car they were in crashed and landed on its side.

The sil­ver Peu­geot was in­volved in a col­li­sion at Tegg’s Nose Coun­try Park, in Mac­cles­field, on Mon­day af­ter­noon at 3.20pm.

Po­lice and fire­fight­ers from Mac­cles­field and Bolling­ton were called to the scene.

Crews res­cued four peo­ple from the car - three men aged 53, 80 and 82, as well as a 76-year-old wo­man. All suf­fered only mi­nor in­juries.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice no other ve­hi­cle was in­volved in the ac­ci­dent, which hap­pened on Bux­ton Old Road.

A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Res­cue Ser­vice said: “On ar­rival the crews dis­cov­ered that the car was on its side and four peo­ple were trapped in­side.

“The road was closed in both di­rec­tions as the emer­gency ser­vices worked at the scene. Fire­fight­ers made the car safe and got all four ca­su­al­ties out of the car. They were handed over to the care of paramedics and are be­lieved to have only suf­fered mi­nor in­juries.”
