Best kept village is a gem

THERE was double delight for Sutton Parish Council at the 2018 Community Pride Competitio­n.

At the event, organised by Cheshire Community Action (CCA) and held in Frodsham, Sutton, was given the accolade of best kept village.

And the parish was also presented with a Little Gem award for Sutton Cemetery.

Sutton Parish Council chairman Andrew Waller attended the ceremony to receive the awards.

He said: “Congratula­tions to everyone involved in our winning entry this year.

“The Parish Council would particular­ly like to thank the Three Villages Community Action Group for all their hard work in making this possible.

“They have put so much into this project and are a credit to the parish.”

Councillor Hilda Gaddum added: “I was thrilled to learn that Sutton had won the Best Kept Village Competitio­n in its class.

“This is a tremendous achievemen­t and I fully endorse the comments of the chairman of the tireless support of a number of people.”
