Kraftwerk to headline festival

-

INFLUENTIAL German electronic band Kraftwerk has been named as a headline act for next year’s Bluedot Festival.

The group, who rose to fame in the 1970s, will close the main Lovell Stage at the event, which takes place at Jodrell Bank from July 18 to 21 next year.

It is the fourth time the music, science and culture event has been held and Kraftwerk will give a what is described as a ‘special 3D live performance’.

The band will appear following a limited number of sell-out UK theatre shows and appearances at the Bilbao Guggenheim, New York’s Museum of Modern Art and London’s Tate Modern Turbine Hall.

More artists to appear at the festival will be announced in January and tickets went on sale on Friday, November 23.

This year the event was nominated in the ‘best medium festival’ category at the UK Festival Awards.
