Turning point for Silkmen

- SHELDAN KEAY

STRIKER Harry Smith hopes the 1-0 win over Yeovil Town can be the turning point in his side’s season.

Smith was delighted to come out on top in the game on Saturday, and he has stressed just how vital it was to take all three points against a team that have also struggled during the campaign.

“It’s a massive win. We knew we had to win the game and we said before the game that it was the biggest game of the season. There’s a different feel about us now and hopefully the tide has turned,” he said.

“Considering the form Yeovil were in we saw it as an opportunity and we took it. We knew the first goal would be massive and we had to make sure it was us.

“We deserved it on the whole and the fans got behind us too. When they’re behind us it’s like the 12th man for us, and they’ve been like that all season which has been great considering how tough it has been.

“Elliott Durrell came back in and he was excellent.

“If he carries on like that then we’ll fly up the table.

“Hopefully this can change our season.”
