Sur­veyor is off to the sea­side

A LONG-SERV­ING build­ing sur­veyor has re­tired af­ter more than 30 years of help­ing en­sure pub­lic safety.

Dave Frank­ish, 61, has left his role as prin­ci­pal build­ing con­trol sur­veyor for Cheshire East Coun­cil’s wholly owned com­pany Civi­cance Ltd.

In his work, car­ried out largely in Mac­cles­field, Poyn­ton, Dis­ley and Wilm­slow, he has helped peo­ple and com­pa­nies com­ply with build­ing reg­u­la­tions and dealt with danger­ous struc­tures.

He be­gan his ca­reer in 1987 when the lo­cal author­ity was Mac­cles­field Bor­ough Coun­cil and joined Civi­cance in 2015.

Dave will now spend more time bike rid­ing and vis­it­ing Wales.

A spokesman for the com­pany said: “We would like to thank Dave for all of his con­tri­bu­tions and hard work over the years and wish him a re­lax­ing fu­ture re­tire­ment.

“He will be greatly missed through­out Cheshire East and within the Civi­cance team.”

“He is look­ing for­ward to spend­ing time do­ing two of his favourite things, spend­ing time in north Wales, and cy­cling.”

As his re­tire­ment gift he chose a con­tri­bu­tion to a new fold­ing bike and he now plans to move to the sea­side.
