Surveyor is off to the seaside
A LONG-SERVING building surveyor has retired after more than 30 years of helping ensure public safety.
Dave Frankish, 61, has left his role as principal building control surveyor for Cheshire East Council’s wholly owned company Civicance Ltd.
In his work, carried out largely in Macclesfield, Poynton, Disley and Wilmslow, he has helped people and companies comply with building regulations and dealt with dangerous structures.
He began his career in 1987 when the local authority was Macclesfield Borough Council and joined Civicance in 2015.
Dave will now spend more time bike riding and visiting Wales.
A spokesman for the company said: “We would like to thank Dave for all of his contributions and hard work over the years and wish him a relaxing future retirement.
“He will be greatly missed throughout Cheshire East and within the Civicance team.”
“He is looking forward to spending time doing two of his favourite things, spending time in north Wales, and cycling.”
As his retirement gift he chose a contribution to a new folding bike and he now plans to move to the seaside.
